Assembly Studios

Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Designed to be a hub for creativity and innovation, Assembly Studios is Atlanta’s newest and most expansive film and TV studio complex, offering a range of state-of-the-art studios that help meet production needs of all kinds.

The goal of the 130-acre development was to seamlessly blend television and filmmaking with an exceptional public environment that delivers a remarkable destination while expressing a commitment to creativity, innovation and sustainability.

Atlanta-based planning and landscape architecture firm HGOR designed Assembly Studios to feature numerous film opportunities in a walkable, urban space that highlights the architectural themed surrounding environments. Assembly Studios features nearly one million square feet of studio soundstages, support buildings, miles of public sidewalks and trails and over six acres of open space.

To accomplish the film studio’s goal, the project’s architects skillfully combined design, architecture and building materials that maximize the potential for filming throughout the entire environment while emphasizing its sustainability commitment. Kawneer’s 1600 Wall System®2 Curtain Wall, Trifab® VersaGlaze® 450 Framing System, 350 Medium Stile Entrances and 350T Insulpour® Thermal Entrances were specified to meet the various needs for the project, giving the film and TV hub a sleek building appearance.

Kawneer’s Trifab® VersaGlaze® 450 Framing System was incorporated into the project to set the standard for performance and fabrication flexibility. Our stick fabricated, Structural Silicone Glazed (SSG) 1600 Wall System®2 Curtain Wall was also used to help provide enhanced visual impact and deliver outstanding views of the surrounding area. Meanwhile, Kawneer 350T Insulpour® Thermal Entrances help provide superior thermal performance and durability to meet to withstand heavy foot traffic often experienced at film studios.
