The Northwest Independent School District (Northwest ISD) Administration Building in Fort Worth, Texas, was designed to centralize and modernize the school district’s leadership and operational functions. Spanning approximately 127,900 square feet, the facility reflects a forward-thinking move toward the future of education leadership. The two-story structure showcases a western-modern aesthetic, featuring rich textures, abundant natural daylight and open, transparent design elements that promote collaboration and innovation. The building houses district administration and curriculum leaders, offering modern office spaces, collaborative zones, professional development areas, dining facilities and a reimagined School Board Room equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

Kawneer played a key role in the building’s construction by delivering high-performing curtain wall, entrances and storefront framing systems for the project, including our 1600 Wall System®1 and System®2 Curtain Wall, Trifab® VersaGlaze® 450 and 601T Framing Systems and 500 Standard Entrances in wide stile. These products were specified to help enhance the building’s overall energy efficiency, natural daylighting and visual appeal, aligning with Northwest ISD’s goals for sustainability and modern design. Kawneer’s solutions were the ideal choice for a facility that embodies the district’s forward-thinking vision.

The project also included the renovation and integration of an Annex and Maintenance Building, which supports the district’s Facilities and Maintenance departments, including carpentry, HVAC and electrical teams. These buildings are connected by an open plaza, creating a unified and welcoming campus environment. Features like front-entry access to the Northwest ISD Education Foundation’s Free Resource Store and Library reflect the district’s commitment to flexibility, accessibility and community support.
